I've got hold of a set of wheels at the weekend and trial fitted them yesterday. I fancied something a bit different so went with a set of Japanese Enkei Selbach 3 spokes with 215/40/17 tyres. I like the look and all I need to do now is decide on a colour for the refurb. All white? White spokes with silver rim? Black spokes silver rim? All silver? Still deciding.

Nice choice. I'd go with all black or if you going with white colour-code them to match the bodywork.

Still trying to upload a pic, work network probs at the mo!
I'm leaning towards all(off)white TBH. I liked the look of the white Cube with the Mini wheels but just thought they looked a little too bright white.

Gunmetal is the new black................

I'd go matt black spokes, with a gloss white rim. Would be an absolute be atch to paint, but would look awesome.

Get pics up and have a poll on colour choice

Think they look like these...

I've changed my mind from the black - think if you're going 3 spokes they need to be a nice bright colour to show the spoke contrast to the gaps - so colour-coded to body colour or baby blue would look sweet.

Dunno what it is about 3 spokes, but they've always screamed 'Chav Nova' to me.
I think what tipped me over the edge was I once had a bloke at an American show park next to my 72' Mustang in a gorgeous '71 351 Boss. Then I noticed he'd put modern 3 spokes on it. I couldn't decide whether to break down & weep or punch him in the face.
Having said that, I think the type in the pic there would probably work on a Gen3 Cube.

Yeah, that works T33tle. Didn't think it would on a Gen2, but it does.

When you said you were having those 3 spokes I too thought chav Corsa and thought they would look terrible on a Cube but I've got to be honest and say I think they really suit the car, well done

Thansk guys, I took a gamble and think when they're painted, it'll look sweet.
I guess you can never compare such an anti-fashion car as a Cube with anything else!
I'm getting lots of ideas from loads of modded Scion xB's in the states. It's almost the same car as a Gen 2 really, also called a Toyota BB in some markets and sold under the Scion brand over there. I had my Cube parked with a Toyota BB and other than the wraparound window, some panels (the roof certainly) are identical.

Did you have any issues with wheel/tyre size?

The car drives a little firmer (as expected when you drop the profile from 60 to 40) but it drives fine, no shakes or rubs.
First go at painting 2 of the wheels today, just did the spokes white and left the rim silver (got too cold and ran out of paint!) Masking them off took a g e s!
The paint looked a pretty good match in the shop but looks a bit bright now. I might tone it down a little for the next coat. I was parked next to a Mini today and their Ivory white looks a decent match.
