Hi all- just posed this question to another owner on a differnet topic but would appreciate more advice. I just got my baby blue 04 Cube a couple of weeks ago but am still relying on my old car (which i need to sell) as my main means of transport. The problem is I'm really worried that some scumbag is going to damage my lovely car! The area i live in is very nice and the cube is parked on the road outside the house- no problems there. I'm worried though that I'll park it at work or wherever and due to its unusual colour and design it'll attract unwanted attention from vandals. Am I being silly and is my car any more likely to be scratched etc than anyone else's?- i hope so but i'm genuinely concerned and not enjoying the car as much as I should be as a result. Any advice?
Am I being stupid?!!

you should have known when u got the car, many people will stare at it as they have not seen a unique car before. you will get people going up to the car and just browse at it. it is rare for people to deliberately damage it for no reason unless they have some personal conflict or just to break in. Im not sure about people in Ireland, but in england people are just curious. you should park somewhere discreet if you are worried.

I had my numberplate bent back once parking it at a bowling alley.. still dont understnad why they did it.
and peoples been loitering around my car & ive seen forehead marks on my windows when i park my car somewhere..
I guess clot was right when people will be curious and stare.. but its just one of those things u gotta deal with when you own a cube? its probably quite rare though,..

i have to agree with stanley on this,i dont mean to bring any irish people down but chavs with tracksuits and burberry caps ( this is purley in my experience, i dont mean to scare you either) would see a cube and if they're bored enough would try and damage it,bottom line is just be very careful where you park, oh and carry a 2 foot long breaker bar in the car for 'loosening your wheelnuts'

That's a fair point Clot- yes I should of given it a bit more thought before I bought it.
In my defence, I'm a teacher and have just started a new job in a new school- it came out of the blue after I'd bought the car. The new school is in a pretty rough area in a pretty rough town with pretty rough kids going to it! The cube is sure to raise some eyebrows, I can live with that and the slagging, but I suppose I'm worried that after a run in with some little thug at work, he'll walk straight out and ruin my car!! Maybe I'll just have to start being a lot nicer to the kids and let them away with murder! Who am I kidding....the cube is doomed!
