I have also purchased a cusco strut brace bar and really impressed with it. The front feels a lot firmer than ever before. Next step is to buy an under brace. Will take some pics soon for you all.

Hi there,
just had mine changed. I have a 2005 cube, the part number for the one I have is 7pk1148..jmc (it cost £21.48 +labour). It makes a very quick squeak when I turn the key but runs silently. not sure if that is supposed to happen (running in?) or not.

Good luck

still for sale !
Someone MUST need these more than I !
Special price, 550, in cash !!! If you are wondering why this price,
just check the price of 4 Mini wheels, the hub works inside, refurbishment of wheels,
and 4 new tyres......
Or then I put them under myself. As I would like to see how they
look under white Cube.

Just wondering what paint was used on the engine cover. Was a very high temperature paint used as I imagine it still gets fairly hot even though its plastic? Planning on spraying mine in the next few weeks.

Yes , start with new oils and oilfilter, and naturally new airfilter and sparkplugs.
That should, if all is otherwise OK, sort out your emissions.
They are all readily available everywhere, I have purchased a set 2 times from E-bay.

Hi Cube drivers, I am trying to get my hands on 2 of the black hooks that attach to the holes in the rear doors, I have 2 in the front but none in the back, as I understand it Nissan only provide 2 hooks (WHY?!!!). I have seen these pastel ones in packs of 3 but want 2 black ones, can't seem to find anywhere online. Has anyone else got this problem or found some place to get them? Thanks Guys.

Forgot to mention, an induction kit (cold air intake) will make a much bigger difference in sound as they have a much larger surface area meaning they can allow for much greater air-flow and density. They give a more sporty sound but for a couple of extra HP you need to shield them from any heat and try to route a cold air feed to it from the grille or bumper. I know someone however who drove through a large puddle at night and the filter sucked a load of water in which couldnt compress obviously, and so he bent a conrod. For this reason and the standard air box being a good heat shield, i use the pannel filters.

Hey there, thanks for your post on my thread earlier. I have some badboy wheels on that someone fitted before I bought my cube and they are stupidly low profile. Do you still have any of these sets of wheels available? My MOT advice note mentioned that 2 of my tyres are getting low and I'm tempted at this stage to just replace the full set of wheels/tyres rather than buy new tyres for my alloys. As you know I'm based locally. Cheers!

I've got the K&N pannel filter. Makes my exhaust sound abit nicer and more 'barbly' but i doubt you'd notice much on a standard pipe. You wont get any power gains. Maybe very subtle high up the rev range. Only application these make extra ponies is with forced induction. My old turbo got an extra lease of life. Only thing it'll do to a naturally aspirated block is change the sound of the exhaust, providing you already have an uprated/modified one, or your engine is screaming! Otherwise, they're pretty pricey for not much return.

Been having a read through of some old threads on here as I've been thinking about improving the performance a snot and also maybe getting a little bit better MPG out of the old shed.

From what I could gather, seems that the general concensus was getting a good quality replacement panel style filter (ie. Your K&N's of the world) to replace the standard one was better than an induction kit as the former was cheaper and did exactly what the latter did for half the price.

Correct?

Saveloy, I had exactly the same issue with my Cube on it's last MOT where the the ball joints on the lower suspension wishbones were shot.

I just went to my local motor factors & bought 2 wishbones for a K12 2002-2007 Micra. Gave 'em to my mechanic man and he fitted them. Bam. Done.

My parts cost £30+vat each, but the old man knows the bloke, so I think we may have got mates rates! I'd say expect about £40-50+vat per side. Apparently, you can do the actual ball joints themselves but they cost about £30 themselves and can be a total bastard to swap.

My thread on this is here if you want a read: http://forum.cubeownersclub.co.uk/topic/3781

HTH!

No joy for the parts I need on that site, the hunt goes on. Someone mentioned that Micra parts or Clio parts may fit - if anyone can help me on that front I would be eternally grateful - Cheers!

Does anyone know what the Cube garage in Bradford is called and if they stock parts? Thanks.

Hi another Leeds Cube!, I have used these guys for a few parts: http://www.importcarparts.co.uk/parts.asp?cat=87&sub=2390&sec=2445, not too sure about emissions but a filter and oil couldn't hurt.

Hi there

My poor Cube failed the MOT check yesterday. There are a few bits that I can sort such as rear fog lamp not working and front brake binding but I could really do with some help in sourcing parts for the other fail items.

Nearside front suspension arm ball joint dust cover excessively deteriorated. I guess it will be easier to replace the whole ball joint than source the dust cover but I have spent ages on Google without much luck and would really appreciate being pointed in the right direction to buy this part. The advisory note on the MOT says the Offside is deteriorated too but not letting dirt in yet, however I might as well replace them both at the same time.

Also Exhaust emissions carbon monoxide content after 2nd fast idle was excessive and caused a failure mark on the MOT. Any tips for how to resolve this before the re-test? Was thinking of changing oil and air filters and putting some redex through to clear the system - apart from this I have no idea how to improve the emmissions.

Im new to this forum and do love my Cube - I just didn't bank on how tricky it would be to source parts for it!

Many thanks for reading.

Yep, they are the belts i bought and thats the site i bought them from. I will just point out and repeat what i said earlier, i replaced mine only to have the sqeeking return until the engine got up to temp and i put this down to dirty pulley's, however, i just performed an oil change with some 5W30 and drained the old thick, black oil. 'VOILA' sqeek has gone. The oil was obviously too thick when cold. Remember there are multiple possibilities for everything.
